With the Pokémon Go Plus wearable still almost two weeks from release, enterprising Pokémon fan and Etsy seller Jon Irons, a.k.a. PokeWares, has announced a line of decorative covers for the device, promising to allow players to re-skin their device to suit their team allegiance or personal tastes.
The Pokewares Shield comes in a range of designs including the colors of Pokémon Go teams Valor, Mystic and Instinct, as well as various "real wood" finishes. Pokewares' initial marketing materials — including a somewhat over-the-top Facebook video which climaxes with a Photoshop mockup of the product accompanied by a textual call to action: "at all costs we must protect our plus[sic]" — are light on concrete details about the product; however, if so inclined, one can pre-order a Shield on Amazon.
The Pokewares Shield is expected to be released on August 10th with a (rather steep, for a sticker) retail price of $20 (or a still-rather-steep $12.99 for those who pre-order).
